The low-down on the high-riding All-New Škoda Kodiaq

After rave reviews and critical acclaim, the Kodiaq is back for a second season – complete with a full cast of new interior features, plus a debut for the plug-in hybrid option. Set to enjoy its world premiere this autumn, ahead of hitting the roads in mid-2024, the second-gen Kodiaq is an exciting addition to the Škoda family. Here’s an in-depth look by Team Arbury.

Big shoes to fill

The All-New Škoda Kodiaq follows in the footsteps of the first-generation Kodiaq, which landed in 2016. It immediately made an impact with its big-family appeal (optionally available with seven seats) and the new crystalline design language, which hadn’t been seen on a Škoda SUV before.

This torchbearer of Škoda’s latest design identity has already sold more than 740,000 units and scooped more than 40 international awards.

So, it sounds like there wasn’t too much room for improvement and the second-gen Kodiaq reflects this. Rather than a complete overhaul, the popular SUV returns with a modest but stylish facelift, more passenger space and a fresh interior concept. Let’s dive in!

Turn heads

It might be 61mm longer than its predecessor, but the All-New Škoda Kodiaq still exudes a dynamic, sculpted persona. The exterior of the latest generation also sports updated LED Matrix headlights, enhanced with the addition of a coloured crystalline element called Crystallinium.

Squared-off wheel arches and large wheels measuring 18–20 inches complete the commanding presence – wherever you roll.

More space for even more adventures

The All-New Škoda Kodiaq offers more space, especially for passengers in the third seat row. And with a generous 910 litres of boot space, the only question left is: “Where first?”

Perhaps the biggest change to the Kodiaq can be seen in the cabin, which features a new interior concept. The latest generation has a new 13-inch touchscreen display, 10-inch virtual cockpit and head-up display, plus a gearshift lever on the steering column, Škoda Smart Dials and a tidy, well-organised centre console. Enjoy fast wireless charging and cooling for two phones and USB-C ports.

The latest version of the large seven-seat SUV also features advanced assistance systems, such as emergency assist, traffic jam assist and remote park assist, which helps you park into tricky spots from outside the vehicle using an app on your phone.

Power to you

The 2024 Škoda Kodiaq will introduce a plug-in hybrid version for the first time, which offers an all-electric range of up to 62 miles. You can also choose from two petrol and two diesel engines, ranging from 150PS to 204PS. Two versions come with all-wheel drive, and all-new Kodiaq models are equipped with DSG automatic transmission as standard. The 1.5 TSI with mild-hybrid technology also comes with latest-generation active cylinder technology (ACT+).
