The All-New Nissan LEAF is named The Sun’s Car of the Year

Freshly launched and already making waves, the All-New Nissan LEAF has claimed The Sun’s prestigious Car of the Year award!

The Managing Director at Nissan GB, James Taylor, shared his excitement: “We’re absolutely thrilled the All-New Nissan LEAF has been recognised as The Sun’s Car of the Year. As the brand’s newest 100% electric model and most aerodynamic production car to date, it showcases the latest Nissan technology and engineering know-how and, of course, follows in the footsteps of the groundbreaking original LEAF, the world’s first mainstream electric car.”

Nissan Qashqai with New e-POWER takes Hybrid Car of the Year

It’s innovation that keeps on delivering! For the second consecutive year, the Nissan Qashqai with New e-POWER has been awarded Hybrid Car of the Year.

Taylor added: “We’re also tremendously proud that Qashqai with New e-POWER has been named Hybrid Car of the Year for a second consecutive year. It’s recently been updated with an all-new, third-generation e-POWER system and delivers the best of all worlds: the responsive refinement of an EV, the convenience of petrol and the range of a diesel car. How are the winners chosen?

The Motor Awards 2026 judging panel assessed the automotive industry’s latest new models, utilising the combined expertise of Rob Gill, Motors Editor at The Sun; Nick Rufford, Assistant Editor at The Sunday Times; and Will Dron, Digital Driving Editor at The Times.
