Motability helps keep users mobile by extending expiring leases
At #TeamArbury, despite our dealerships temporarily closing
, we are here to keep you updated with any government or industry announcements that may impact your mobility during the UK lockdown, as the country fights the coronavirus pandemic.
We have looked at the government announcement of suspending MOT tests
for six months, and also want to highlight the latest advice from the Motability Scheme. The scheme has helped thousands of people get mobile, and we know that Motability customers might have concerns during this period of uncertainty – especially with dealerships being closed.
Motability have set out to give peace of mind to their customers, saying they are doing everything they can to keep you mobile. They have established a remote-working team, and have published an article answering their most frequently asked questions.
One important announcement is that the scheme has confirmed that it will be extending leases for a six-month period
for users approaching the end of their lease. This will be automatic, so there is no need to contact Motability about this.
Another concern Motability touches on in their FAQs is breakdowns/urgent repairs. With less people travelling to work and schools closing, the roads should, in theory, be quieter, but unfortunately breakdown services will still be required. Motability confirm that their partner services are still running, including the RAC and Kwik Fit.
