Arbury
Arbury is a family business, first sprung from the Cathedral Motor Company Ltd in 2000 by esteemed members from Evans Halshaw - David Stenning, Anthony Archer and Neil Barrett. Our first dealership was Arbury Service Station in Bulkington – the first time we used our current name. We grew quickly, adding a second PEUGEOT franchise in Lichfield, which included the Group’s Accident Repair Centre.
By 2004, we were ready to expand again – and, after years of searching for the perfect company, we added a third PEUGEOT franchise with the purchase of Dennis Cooper Cars in Leamington Spa. In December, we added our first Citroën dealer, located in Nuneaton.
In 2007, we purchased another site: Goodfellows, a 2.5-acre dealership representing PEUGEOT and Citroën in Walsall. Later that year, we also became Citroën Approved Repairers at our successful Birmingham Road location in Lichfield.
2008 saw us grow again, with an acquisition in Sydenham – adding representation in the area for both Citroën and Suzuki, the addition of the Fiat brand in a new showroom at Aldridge Walsall, and the addition of the Škoda brand to our Leamington Spa location.
2010 saw the acquisition of the Bromsgrove site, meaning we could cater to both new and existing PEUGEOT and Nissan customers in Bromsgrove, and the surrounding areas such as Redditch, Droitwich Spa, Worcester and Kidderminster.
2013 saw the introduction of the Nissan brand to Leamington Spa, along with the re-launch of our Škoda site at an expansive, standalone location, also in Leamington Spa.
In 2014, we were commended as the ‘Best Retailer Group’ at the AM Awards 2014, an event hosted by Automotive Management Magazine. We were also recognised by PEUGEOT as their top dealer group in the UK, taking five of the top positions in the Guild of Gold Lion award ranking, including the highly coveted first place. The prestigious Guild of Gold Lion Award recognises superb performance, including excellent customer service and sales performance and outstanding customer feedback – and 2014 wasn’t going to be our first and only appearance in the rankings…
In 2015, Arbury.co.uk was shortlisted for the Motor Trader ‘Dealer Website of the Year’ award. As a group, we raised over £2,000 for Children in Need. Nissan Bromsgrove won a Retailer of the Year award.
In 2016, we communicated with 90% of our customers electronically and carried out 75% of our sales activities via our website as part of our commitment to becoming more environmentally friendly in all areas of our business. We also welcomed a new brand and location to the Arbury family: SEAT in Solihull.
2017 was a busy year for the team, with the launch of a new main website, plus a whole host of dedicated sites for each of our brands in order to enhance the user journey and provide our customers with a seamless buying experience.
2018 saw a number of exciting developments, including the introduction of Abarth to our brand portfolio, a regional award for our Citroën Nuneaton dealership recognising their work with the Motability Car Scheme, and our PEUGEOT franchise being named the top PEUGEOT dealer group in the UK for sales, with over 98% for customer satisfaction! What’s more, we launched our Arbury Budget Range, to help us continue to meet the needs and requirements of all of our customers.
2019 saw us continue our winning ways, with all five of our PEUGEOT dealerships being named in the PEUGEOT Guild of Gold Lion dealers list (with Nuneaton taking the top spot), meaning we were the UK’s best performing PEUGEOT dealer group for the year. What’s more – our Nuneaton team won two accolades at the annual Citroën Excellence Awards. The team were awarded ‘Best Customer Aftersales Experience’ and ‘Best Sales Customer Experience’ – a particularly special moment, as 2019 marked Citroën’s centenary!
2020 marked our 20th year, and we celebrated a number of milestones during what was an unprecedented year for the world. We opened our new SEAT showroom in Stourbridge – the second SEAT dealership in our portfolio. What’s more, four of our PEUGEOT dealerships were named in the Top 15 PEUGEOT Guild of Gold Lion dealers, and Arbury Fleet was crowned the ‘PEUGEOT Guild of Gold Lion Business Centre of the Year 2019’. We also rebranded Arbury Fleet as Arbury Leasing to help us better serve Personal Leasing and Fleet customers who wish to lease brand-new vehicles and complete the process online.
We were likewise thrilled to be featured in the 2020 Sunday Times PwC Top Track 250, as one of Britain’s leading mid-market private companies with the biggest sales. This special COVID-19 edition highlighted the important contribution that mid-market companies have made to the UK during the pandemic. At Arbury, we are immensely proud of the role we played in helping to keep our nation’s key workers moving during lockdown, as well as making significant changes and adaptions to how we work in order to provide a safe and secure environment for customers and staff alike.
In 2021, we continued to adapt to the challenges of the pandemic, and were excited to hold our first-ever virtual event at the start of the year. And, in another ‘first’, we held our inaugural EV event, helping our customers get the most out of electric driving. In September, we were thrilled to see our Dealer Principal and Director, Scott Stenning, win the award for ‘Dealer Principal/General Manager of the Year’ at the AM Awards 2021. We were proud to be shortlisted for Best Dealer Group (more than 10 sites) too. We also expanded our portfolio, with our sixth PEUGEOT dealership opening in Stourbridge, and continued to invest in technology in order to provide the very best services for our customers. What’s more, Arbury, PEUGEOT in Bromsgrove won the PEUGEOT UK Sales Department of the Year 2021 at the Retailer Awards. Last but certainly not least, Škoda Leamington had a record breaking 2021 and were listed in the top 20 retailers for the year, and Škoda Finance also awarded the sales department in Leamington Retailer of the Year!
2022 was another year of growth and gratitude. We were thrilled to open Arbury, CUPRA in Stourbridge, following the site undergoing an exciting transformation. The year also saw Arbury Leasing named as a Leasys Top 10 Retailer Partner 2022 for the second year in a row, and Arbury, PEUGEOT in Nuneaton shortlisted for the Used Car Dealer of the Year Award at the AM Awards 2022. We also welcomed the Automated Reminder Bot, also known as A.R.B, to Team Arbury – to support the team in helping you feel more confident than ever in maintaining your car.
The highlight of the year, though, was undoubtedly our first-ever #TeamArbury Awards. We know that what sets Arbury apart is, quite simply, our team. We always celebrate great performance with our regular employee awards, but we wanted to go a step further. Held at the glitzy Edgbaston Stadium, this was our first major event where all of our dealerships and head office came together to mark a fantastic year and celebrate the positive culture that exists within the group.
2023 was all about looking to the future and nurturing various forward-thinking initiatives. We were thrilled to be highly commended for Online Consumer Experience of the Year (Franchised) at the AM Awards, known for their commitment to rewarding excellence in the industry. What’s more, PEUGEOT in Nuneaton and Bromsgrove and Nissan in Bromsgrove each received a Highly Rated Award 2023 from Auto Trader, recognising retailers who have achieved outstanding reviews.
We take our responsibility towards the environment very seriously and were proud to launch our project to install solar panels as part of our commitment to supporting the transition to renewable energy. The first set of 356 panels has pride of place at our largest dealership in Bromsgrove – home to Nissan and PEUGEOT.
2024 was another milestone year. We were excited to unveil our first-ever TV advert, for Sky AdSmart, for Arbury in Stourbridge. We’re proud to be a part of the Stourbridge community and the ad featured local landmarks and popular areas, including Merry Hill. Our SEAT and PEUGEOT teams also featured, with the ad focusing on the theme that ‘a lot can happen in two years’ – highlighting our two years’ free servicing offer.
We also embraced a new working pattern to enhance our work–life balance by closing on Sundays, ensuring our dedicated staff enjoys some well-deserved time with their families. It’s been a success, with customers knowing our team members are still on hand to deliver an amazing service – with sales teams on hand from Monday to Saturday and servicing teams available from Monday to Friday.
The launch of Auto Select by Arbury – our first-ever dedicated used car centre has been a particular triumph. With the tagline, ‘Quality Assured, Value Guaranteed’, the centre offers customers more choice and more value, with quality pre-owned cars hand-picked by our vehicle sourcing team. Located on Birmingham Road, just outside Lichfield, Auto Select by Arbury promotes a 12-month Arbury warranty, plus two years' free servicing when you purchase via finance – giving the ultimate peace of mind.
Rebecca Wood and Christopher Dean from Arbury, Peugeot in Walsall were among the 20 finalists selected from over 1,400 entrants nationwide. The awards programme, launched by Stellantis in February 2024, celebrates exceptional skills, dedication, and positive impact on customer experience across its various brands, including Peugeot, Vauxhall, Citroën, and Fiat.
2025 marked our 25-year anniversary! We’ve been on an incredible journey since we first opened our doors on 1 April 2000. We now proudly represent eight esteemed brands across the West Midlands, along with our very own leasing! We created a special Arbury 25 logo to commemorate this momentous occasion. Here’s to the next 25 years!
It was a year of celebration in more ways than one. 10 of our locations won a Reputation 800 Award in 2025 based on exceptional customer service, plus several dealerships were also recognised in the top 15% of UK retailers for customer service by Autotrader. With our award-winning team focused on your needs, you’re in great hands! We celebrated two of our Peugeot dealerships that were name in Guild of Gold Lion Top 20 Dealership 2024. Another celebration was, Rebecca Wood and Christopher Dean from Arbury, Peugeot in Walsall for reaching the finals of the ‘Stars of Stellantis awards for the second time in a row- Along with Hannah Cooper, from Arbury, Peugeot in Stourbridge, for taking home Runner-Up award for her outstanding contribution.
We had a very exciting event for Arbury Nissan, Leamington Spa, for the All-New Nissan MICRA and the All-New Nissan LEAF. To introduce the models, the company launched the Electric Encounters Live tour, a nationwide preview event running from October 2025 to January 2026 and visiting more than 130 UK dealerships. Visitors could sit in the cars, explore the new designs and technology, and speak directly with specialists.
We also held our #TeamArbury awards, celebrating staff and achievements from 2024, held in early 2025. With over 250 guests in attendance, once the awards were handed out, the evening saw a range of entertainment, from Disco Heads through to a Neon dance troupe.
At the start of the year, we welcomed Leapmotor to our brand line-up, opening dealerships in Bromsgrove and Walsall. By the close of the year, Arbury, Leapmotor in Lichfield had joined the group, bringing innovative electric vehicles like Leapmotor C10 and T03 to a wider area of the Midlands.
We had big news that Arbury, Peugeot in Bromsgrove were crowned Best Peugeot Dealer in the UK at the prestigious Guild of Gold Lion Awards 2025. For our customers, this award is a recognition of the care, consistency and commitment they experience every time they walk through our doors. This wouldn't be possible without our continued trust and support from our loyal customer.
