In detail

The EcoCar Electrified Top 50 celebrates the UK’s leading electrified cars, from mild hybrids and plug-in hybrids to fully electric vehicles. For Bigster, the award recognises a straightforward idea that electrification should be accessible.

Ian Robertson, Editor, said: “Dacia continues to redefine value motoring with the Bigster, which takes our Best Affordable Hybrid SUV award. Its full hybrid powertrain delivers genuine efficiency in a package that costs a fraction of comparable rivals. Spacious, well-made and refreshingly honest about what it is, the Bigster makes a compelling case for those who need a practical family SUV without stretching the budget. Dacia's winning formula is scaled up for bigger families.”

The recognition is perfectly timed. At Renaut Group’s recent FutuREady conference, Dacia set out a roadmap built around accessible electrification, stronger presence in the C-Segment and the same essential, robust and affordable thinking that has made the brand a benchmark for so long. Bigster is already doing the job of bringing hybrid power to a larger SUV without asking buyers to pay for things they don’t need.

Starting from £25,215 on-the-road, Bigster broadens what drivers can expect from an affordable SUV. Offered in three trim levels – Expression, Journey and Extreme – and with a choice of mild hybrid and hybrid powertrains, it blends rugged styling with the space, equipment and toughness that have become Dacia hallmarks. The best-selling hybrid 155 version starts from £26,715 on-the-road.

Every trim comes with the kind of kit people actually use, including a 10.1-inch central touchscreen, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, rear parking sensors, a multi-view camera, automatic rain-sensing wipers, and a 40/20/40 rear bench seat with Easy Fold function.

The range stays simple, too. Expression keeps things well equipped and to the point. Journey adds comfort-focused features including 19-inch alloy wheels, electric powered tailgate, hands-free key, wireless phone charger and adaptive cruise control on hybrid versions. Extreme is for the outdoor lovers, adding 18-inch alloy wheels, modular roof bars, washable MicroCloud synthetic TEP upholstery, rubber mats, and hill descent control.

Lina Ribeiro, Dacia Brand Director for the UK, said: “Bigster shows exactly where Dacia is heading. More electrified choices, more space, more capability – but no drift into unnecessary complexity or inflated prices. This award matters because it recognises the thing Bigster was built to do.

It gives UK drivers a proper hybrid SUV that fits real family life, real budgets and real roads. That is the point of Dacia’s FutuREady roadmap. It’s not technology for show, but technology that earns its place.”

The Bigster will soon be available with a hybrid 150 4x4 powertrain. Built for drivers who want the freedom to take the long way home, head off the beaten track and make the most of every weekend, the new hybrid 150 4x4 will strengthen what Dacia does best: rugged, robust SUVs with the kind of dependable usability that makes adventure part of everyday life.
